In three short weeks these two will be getting hitched! Marissa and Chris' engagement session in Pismo Beach was so much fun! They had each other laughing the whole session and I was laughing and smiling along with them. My cheeks were definitely sore from smiling so much. It's an occupational hazard for sure, but one I don't mind.

I first was introduced to Marissa and Chris back in early August. Marissa happens to be the step-daughter of my sister's sister-in-law (are you still with me?). And unknown to Marissa, she had already seen some of my photos. There's not very many photos on my sister's walls that I didn't take. So yay to my sister for printing ALL those canvases! After a couple of email exchanges I knew Marissa and Chris were going to be an amazing couple to work with.

The day of their engagement session the sun decided to stay hidden, but the lack of people out meant we pretty much had the beach and grove to ourselves. Like I said, these two smiled the whole time. All they had to do was look at each other and the smiles and giggles would start. These two are so easy going and just went with the flow. We started the session at Monarch Butterfly Grove surrounded by eucalyptus trees. If you've never been to Monarch Butterfly Grove I highly recommend going. The clusters of monarch butterflies are so stunning to see. It's a bit early in the season to see them now, but in a couple of months they will be all over that grove.

From the grove we headed to the beach. One of the best things about the central coast, besides the beach being 10 minutes away, is that the weather is still warm during October. That's great because it means there's no frozen toes or fingers! I had such a hard time narrowing down my favorite images from this engagement session. There was just so much joy and love between Marissa and Chris and I loved being able to capture that. I enjoyed working with these two. I can't wait to capture their wedding day!
